The process

Four steps from enquiry to enrolment

If anyone asks you for a payment outside the published fee schedule, report it to the Registrar's office directly. It is not how we admit students.

Apply online

Fill the form, upload your marksheets and pay the ₹ 1,200 application fee. You get a portal login the same day.

Entrance or merit

Either a national score (JEE, CLAT, CAT, GATE) or the university's own KCET, held four times a year at centres across Punjab.

Counselling

Seat allotment against your rank and preference order, run in three rounds with the seat matrix published before each.

Enrol

Accept the seat, pay the first instalment, complete document verification, and choose hostel and transport if you need them.

Documents

At application

Class X and XII marksheets, entrance scorecard, photograph, and a government photo ID.

At enrolment

Originals of the above plus transfer certificate, migration certificate, character certificate, category certificate where applicable, and a medical fitness form.

Fees

Published in full, revised once a year, never mid-session

Indicative annual tuition for 2026–27. Programme-level fees are listed against each course in the catalogue.

Tuition

₹ 46,000 to ₹ 1.45 lakh per year depending on programme. Payable in two instalments.

Hostel

₹ 88,000 per year for a triple room, ₹ 1.14 lakh for a double, including mess.

Transport

₹ 22,000 to ₹ 38,000 per year by route distance, across 26 routes.

One-time charges

₹ 1,200 application, ₹ 15,000 admission, ₹ 10,000 refundable caution deposit.

Support

Scholarships and fee concessions

Roughly one student in seven holds a concession. Applications are considered in July and again in December.

Merit scholarship

Up to 100% of tuition for a JEE percentile above 98, CLAT rank inside 1,500, or 95% in Class XII.

Sibling concession

10% of tuition on the second child and 15% on the third, applied automatically each semester.

Defence & single-girl-child

15% of tuition for children of serving and retired defence personnel, and for single girl children.

Need-based support

Assessed confidentially by a trust committee. No enrolled student has been withdrawn from this university for fees.

Before you ask

Admission questions we get most

No. Every seat is filled through counselling against a published merit or entrance rank, and the entire fee is on the schedule you receive in writing. If anyone asks you for anything outside it, report it to the Registrar.

The K2 ERP Common Entrance Test, our own entrance for candidates without a national score. It is held four times a year — February, April, June and August — at centres in Pathankot, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana and Chandigarh, and can also be taken online with remote proctoring.

Yes for the merit-based programmes: BCA, BBA, B.Com, B.Sc, and most postgraduate arts and science courses. Engineering, law, management and doctoral programmes all require an entrance score, either national or KCET.

Refunds follow the UGC schedule, which is printed on your fee receipt. In short: a full refund less a processing charge if you withdraw before the session begins, tapering to nil after the cut-off date. The application fee is never refundable.

The finance office is empanelled with six banks and will issue the documentation they require, usually within two working days. We do not receive a commission from any lender, and we will not recommend one over another.

Yes, into the second year of B.Tech and BCA for diploma holders, against a separate merit list. Around 10% of seats in each branch are reserved for lateral entry.
