A state private university at Pathankot. Founded 2011, university status 2016, NAAC A+ since 2022.
The K2 Education Trust opened an engineering college here in 2011 with three branches and 180 students. The Punjab State Legislature granted university status in 2016.
The campus has grown to 140 acres across nine schools, but intake has grown far more slowly than the building programme. We add a section only once the faculty position is filled — which is why we run at roughly 11,400 students on infrastructure rated for 16,000.
What the trust asked of the first principal still governs the place: teach the syllabus properly, keep the laboratories stocked, and publish the outcomes honestly even when they are not flattering.

Keep teaching groups small enough that faculty know every student’s weak topic. Timetable every laboratory and studio so none sits locked. Assess continuously and report outcomes in full, including the ones that disappoint us.
Fees within reach of a salaried family in this region. A consumables budget that is never the first thing cut. And no seat in this university that can be bought outside the published fee schedule.
Parents ask me about our placement percentage. I tell them, then I ask a different question: what does your child do when nobody has set them a task? A university can push a number up by drilling. It cannot fake a student who redoes an experiment because the first reading looked wrong.
